So, I Started Reading . . . The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh

My reaction to Shazi and Desi
I picked up this book yesterday to read during my lunch break and I fell absolutely in love with it. Shazi could be the love of my life. Followed very closely by Desi and Jalal. I'm on page 122, so please don't spoil anything for me!

Shazi is so strong and brash. I love her attitude. She's an amazing character. I haven't had much interaction with Desi but I adore her as well. Shazi and Desi's banter is the stuff my heart is made out of. I adore their friendship/rivalry. Frivalry? Khalib is . . . slowly but surely growing on me. Like Shazi, I thought I'd hate him, but seeing him through her eyes, maybe not so much anymore?

I'm very interested in how things are going to go down with Shazi's Baba. Seems like he has a one-way ticket to crazy town via desperation train. Tariq is sweet, and I like his personality. But this die hard plan of his is going to backfire SO BADLY and I can plainly see it. Therefore his blindness to it is annoying me.

One thing I'm slightly disappointed with is the current transparency of the plot. Based on a prediction in the book, I know exactly what is going to happen later, possibly even how it will unfold. So, that's a bit hard to watch, but otherwise the book has been just gorgeous and wonderful. I'm hoping it will end up surprising me (in a good way.)

Let me know in the comments what books you've started reading. I'm always looking for more recommendations!

Happy Reading,
