Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers. (Meme description from The Broke and the Bookish.)

Top Ten Characters You'd Like To Check In With

1. Grace and Sam from The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater - I haven't read Sinner, so I can't say there wasn't an update on these two. But I need to know, with every fiber of my being, that there is a red coffee pot, white summer dresses, thousands more songs, and millions more paper cranes. I know Maggie said she won't write more about them unless there's a story. And I respect that. I just miss Grace and Sam and want to see their happily ever after.

2. Colby, Georgia, and Adam from Nothing Between Us by Roni Loren - I have my fingers and toes crossed for an update novella on these three. They had such an awesome dynamic. I loved Adam's sweetness, Colby's protectiveness, and Georgia's openness. I'd love to see where their story went, or just hang out with them one more time.

3. Sloane, Emily, Frank, Matt, and Dawn from Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson- See? Not ALL of my check-ins are for couples. I want to know more about Sloane and Emily's new relationship. How are they handling being friends from a distance? Did Dawn and Emily ever repair their friendship?  Did Frank and Matt fix theirs? Did Matt ever warm up to Emily? I want to know!

4. Cam and Avery from the Wait For You series by J. Lynn - Seriously, I need every major life event from this couple. Marriage, pregnancy, babies, or just hanging out in awesome coupledom, sans children. I want it all. There are few couples I become so attached to that I feel the need to see every major life event from their eyes. Cam and Avery are one of them. The next ones on my list are another.

5. Anna, Lola, Cricket, and Etienne from Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins - More than ANYTHING I need to see Anna and Etienne's wedding. And their babies. But I'd be okay with just a wedding for now. They just stole my heart from almost the first page. I also need Lola and Cricket, preferably moving in together or their court house ceremony. I think them moving in together would be more fun. With Cricket's inventions and Lola's designs, they'd probably qualify for an episode of hoarders. Think I could bribe Perkins into a new adult spin-off? Just kidding! Mostly . . .

6. Heartland series by Lauren Brooke - LEAVING TY WAS A MISTAKE.* I mean, um. I very rationally want to see if Ty and Amy perhaps get together later. And block out that home-wrecker Will. *Logically leaving Ty was the right decision for Amy because she needed to pursue her dreams and Ty wasn't totally on board with that. But you just don't break up my childhood OTP that's been together for 12 friggin' books, OKAY? Also I'd love an update on Lou's little family, Amy's stepdad, and Heartland in general.

7. Mao and Jinya from Ai to Himegoto by Mitsuki Kako - Ah! One of my favorite little manga couples. Mao and Jinya are probably in my top 5 favorite manga couples. I know the series left off with their sweet little life. But I'd love an update on their day to day routine. And how frisky Jinya gets with his busy wife ignoring him for the children.

8. Cat and Bones from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost - MY BABIES. I'm in total denial that their series ended. I refuse to read the last book and admit it's over. I know they cameo in Vlad's series . . . and probably will in Ian's. Still, they  were my first adult series couple I latched on to. (Aside from Mercy and Adam, but they were dealing with Sam drama for a while.) I need a little more, just a couple more fixes of my sassy couple. Pleaaaaase Mrs. Frost?

9. Ansel and Mia from Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren- Why is it always the frenchmen that get to be the most adorable? I adore Ansel and Mia's relationship. They're too cute to be real. I need their engagement, their wedding, and Mia getting to be enceinte. Can you imagine Ansel learning Mia is pregnant? The world was not built to contain that much joy.

10. The Reavers from Mistaken by Fate, Betting on Fate and Protecting Fate by Katee Robert- I've enjoyed seeing Garrett and Ridley, Will and Penelope, and Sara and Z in the Serve series. But the siblings seem much too detached by the end. I want a big family get together! Preferably one where couples keep sneaking off for alone time. Also! I need Nolan's story. Need it! Poor boy has been gypped out of 2 relationships so far!

Bonus: Any Tessa Bailey Characters Ever - Tessa is my absolute favorite because she is unbelievably generous with her writing time. She posts little updates on requested characters every so often. It makes me feel like she's just as invested in her characters and where their lives go as I am. She could be using that time to draft more novels, making more money. But she chooses to give back to her fans instead and I think that's amazing of her to do!

Happy Reading,

  1. Aww Anna and Lola are great picks. I wonder how they and their respective partners are doing.
