Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers. (Meme description from The Broke and the Bookish)

1. Hourglass by Myra McEntire- The Hourglass book cover is already hanging in my room as a piece of art. My awesome mom got me a signed cover flat from McEntire when she went to the Southern Festival of Books a few years ago. I've hung it on my wall ever since. It's a haunting, lovely photo that looks effortless. I adore it.

2. Mercy Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs- Mercy's covers are painted by the talented Dan Dos Santos, who does some spectacular art. If you're interested in seeing more of his work, go to his website. I'd be most likely to hang up Silver Borne and River Marked, but I'd take them all for Mercy's amazing tattoos.

3. Dissonance by Erica O' Rourke- This book is so pretty in person! All the purples, blues and greens together look fantastic. Her outfit is so flowy and lovely.

4. Entwined by Heather Dixon- Wowza, the silver foiling on this cover is awesome. I love the little details here, like the castle, the garden, the girl's hair. It all looks so magical.

5. The Lonesome Young by Lucy Connors - I don't know what it is, but this cover makes me swoon. He's just holding her so tight. You can feel the desperation there. It says without words how much they don't want to lose each other.

6. Sky Fall series by Shannon Messenger- The purple stormy version of the first book is my favorite. I love watching storms and listening to huge peals of thunder. There's also how close they hold each other on their cover. As mentioned before, some my favorite covers have emotions practically pouring from them.

7. Cahill Witch Chronicles by Jessica Spotswood - While the original Born Wicked cover is the best, with the lovely white dress, flowers and unique angle. I still love the new series design for the series. I'd hang them all up in my room.

8. Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi - The second version of the Shatter Me series covers was a little controversial for some, because they appear to have zero relation to the story. But I stand by them, as someone who a) wasn't a huge fan of the first cover design and b) thinks the new design on the covers is freaking spectacular. The only problem I'd have hanging these up is getting used to eyes looking at me all day.

9. Mara Dyer series by Michelle Hodkin- These book covers are so creepy, and I LOVE them for it.I also love the story, but man these covers are amazing. I'd probably buy the books even if the story wasn't good, just for the covers. Thankfully, that is not the case here. The story is just as phenomenal as the book covers.

10. Burn for Burn series by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian- I don't know why I adore these covers. Maybe because they look so soft and feminine whereas inside the book, those girl's are plotting some serious revenge. It's the hypocrisy that has me hooked on these covers.
