Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers. (Meme taken from The Broke and the Bookish)

1. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins Must I explain why? Stephanie Perkins has been one of my favorite authors ever since I read Anna and the French Kiss. I'm super excited to (maybe) get my hands on this next year. Plus, Isla is a wonderful girl and I like Josh a bunch.

2. Be With Me by J. Lynn I'm a total fool for almost any book J. Lynn writes. It's fortunate for me she writes so many! Of course I'm super excited to read Teresa and Jase's story. I'm convinced I've figured out Jase's big secret. (It's a little obvious if you pay attention.) My only worry is how everyone else in the story will react to it.

3. Throne of Glass #3 by Sarah J. Maas The book has no title or synopsis and I haven't even read Crown of Midnight yet. Still, I'm more than excited for Celaena's new book. Sarah is too awesome for words and I cannot wait for this book and her 2013 release Mortal.

4. Sinner by Maggie Steifvater I've waited YEARS for some Cole and Isabel closure. I admit to feeling like Sam and Grace's story was a little too open-ended for my taste. But, with Cole and Isabel, I knew there was something big left to be explored. Now, if only Grace and Sam were in it (just for like a page!) I could move on with the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. Maybe then I wouldn't cry every time I see my own username.

5. The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski I won't lie. About 90% of the reason I want to read this book so badly is the cover. It's just so pretty! But, looking at the synopsis, I'm totally enthralled! The book sounds amazing so many levels and I can't wait to read it.

6. All Lined Up by Cora Carmack Here's a paradox for you. I'm not a fan of actual football, but I love Friday Night Lights and books featuring athletes. I already like Cora Carmack for her Losing It series and I think I'll adore this one even more. Plus, I have a huge soft spot for southern settings, especially big and bold Texas.

7. White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout Alright, I feel a little bad for having Jennifer L. Armentrout on here twice. (She's also J. Lynn.) But I am really looking forward to her new series about gargoyles. I've been intrigued by them ever since the Disney show Gargoyles. (Hush, it was a great animated show, okay?) I'm interested in seeing how Jennifer L. Armentrout chooses to spin their mythology.

8. Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover by Sarah MacLean AH! Kick-ass lady of the underworld alert! I am so much more excited than I should be about meeting this chick. Chase also happens to be my favorite of all the rogues. What can I say? Intelligent leaders are a huge turn on. And he's got that whole awesome Nick Fury thing going on with assembling all of the rogues together to form the Fallen Angel.

9. Defy by Sara B. Larson Eep! Another awesome fantasy for 2014. I am SO FRICKIN EXCITED TO READ THIS BOOK. Why you ask? A LADY GUARD TO A PRINCE. Holy wow, that sounds totally amazeballs. My only hesitation is that the synopsis really focuses on the development of a love triangle, which is not my favorite. But I'm hoping this debut will do better than its synopsis.

10.Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins- Woohoo! Another strong warrior lady! This time a paladin. The story is also set in the south and has all sorts of adorable southern-isms. I also hear there's a beauty pageant in the second book! So super excited as well because Rachel Hawkins is kind of the best/funniest ever.

Happy Reading,
