Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

1. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas- At this point I should probably just reserve a spot for Sarah J. Maas on all of my Top Ten Tuesdays. I feel like I talk about her every other week! The book is already out. But, I. Haven't. Had. The. Time. to finish a proper re-read of Throne of Glass, read the "The Assassin and the Princess" and "The Assassin and the Captain," then delve into Crown of Midnight. I might be going through a HUGE Celaena withdrawal right now, as a fair warning.

2. Be With Me by J. Lynn- Tess and Jase! I was already super excited to read this one before getting a 5 chapter preview. But man, now I really need to read this. Sad to say I think I might have figured out a huge spoiler already and I'm worried about how the characters will react. One in particular is making me super nervous. Hurry up and get here February!

3. Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken- Are you kidding me Bracken? After the endings of The Darkest Minds and In Time, you bet your writer-butt I am picking up the sequel. How could you and why did you and uggggggggh. If I weren't so afraid of spoiling it for first time readers, I would go on the rant to end all rants right here. I need to know what happened to everyone. Also, OMG, Mrs. Goodkind crying broke my ever-loving heart! (Come on, it's a vague hint, not a spoiler.)

4. Recklessly Royal by Nichole Chase- I was a big fan of Suddenly Royal after sitting down to read it in one day. It's so light and funny with a generous dollop of romance. Catherine is a fun character. I can't wait to follow her adventures! But I'd love updates on Sam, Alex, Chadwick and his . . . friend as well.

5. The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner- Gen! Come here and let me love you my sweet beh-beh. I'm looking forward to reading more about your thievery and espionage. Plus, a few little birdies told me this series gets even better after the first book. I'm not sure how that's possible, but go ahead my little scoundrel. Wow me!

6. Starcursed by Jessica Spotswood- Born Wicked was one of my favorite reads of 2012. (Go Cate!) All the magic, mystery and fall weather totally wooed me. Have you ever been wooed by a book? If not, I recommend the experience whole-heartedly. I'm excited to re-read Born Wicked and dive into Starcursed at some point in my eternally busy schedule.

7. Fire With Fire by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian- Burn for Burn was one of those books that came out of nowhere to steal my heart. All of the ethical dilemmas in there are fascinating. And the ending, goodness, it made me want to know more. The only thing stopping me from indulging is well, all the other books on this list and how huge Fire with Fire is. I may have to reserve two days on my calendar to read it.

8. The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin- Another one which hit me from out of left field! I LOVED The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer because it surprised me in all the best ways and I cannot believe I haven't read the sequel yet. I love big books and I cannot lie, but time won't compromise! The first book is fabulous, for all those who haven't read it yet, please do so!

9. Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi - It feels like I read Shatter Me so long ago! (Because it was, duh.) However, I still have an obsession with it and have been begging myself to pick up Unravel Me. I even went so far as to re-read Shatter Me and read "Destroy Me." I don't know what I'm waiting for.

10. A Little Too Much by Lisa Desrochers- Reading A Little Too Far was the dirty kind of fun, but there were a few portions of it I didn't agree with. I'm hoping A Little Too Much will rescue the series for me and I'll want to keep reading. Fingers crossed!

Happy Reading,

    1. Ugh. Yes! I am dying to read all of these. For Christmas break, I'm vowing to turn myself into a book drunkard. All books, all the time. Maybe then I'll get some reading done! Thank you for the comment.

    1. I have the books. I just need to read them. Why are there not more hours in the day? I must find someone who can change this. Thank you for the comment and the follow!

Thank you for liking my background! I love this design. If you're interested, Katie at KD Designs (kdcreates.com) designed my blog layout last year. Unfortunately she stopped doing blog designs in October. She has a few recommendations for other designers on her site if you

  4. Crown of Midnight is tied for first place as my best read of the year, so I hope you're able to read it soon! I loved Throne of Glass, but when I read Crown of Midnight I was like...if I thought that was love I wrong. ToG was puppy love, and CoM was LOVE!

And I'd definitely recommend waiting on Evolution of Mara Dyer until Retribution comes out....because THAT ENDING. OH MY GOD.
