Fan art Finds! (1)

Welcome to Fan art Finds! Art is a subject I am extremely passionate about, even though I have absolutely zero talent in creating it. I can't even explain the rush of seeing an awesome book translated into a spectacular piece of art. In the spirit of sharing that amazing feeling, I've decided to showcase a new piece of awesome fan art I've found each week. This time we're taking a look at one of the classics!

Pride n' Prej: Jane+Bingley by flominowa.deviantart.com
This piece was done by Florence Minowa, posted on her flominowa.deviantart.com account in 2010. (I'd advise you to check out her gallery, she does a lot of spectacular original and fanart drawings.) Here is a link to the original post. (click here)

I love this piece so much! I'm extremely partial to animated styles of drawing as opposed to something more realistic. Jane and Mr. Bingley just look so cute this way! I adore Jane's hair and her posture, so inquisitive and sweet. Both of their clothes look lovely, all of the light pastels really compliment each other. Mr. Bingley's hair, his expression are so silly and endearing. The background detail really seems to fit the period, ornate, but not in a gaudy way. I pronounce this a total success in capturing the sweeter and lighter couple of Pride and Prejudice.

A small confession; I've never read Pride and Prejudice. I know, I know, I swear I'm getting to it. It's on my list to read this summer. I have seen the mini-series though, (the really good, long one with Colin Firth as Darcy) and I loved it. So, tell me, what do you think about this weeks fanart? Is it a good representation or not as accurate as you'd like?

Happy Reading,
