#DaemonInvasion Takes Orlando!

This week I got the utter privilege of meeting Jennifer L. Armentrout, Pepe Toth (Daemon cover model) and Sztella Tziotziosz (Katy Cover Model) at Barnes & Noble! I was so utterly unable to think, I got the absolute bare minimum of pictures and I really regret that now, but I did get the one shot that mattered!

Okay, here's the story. My friend and I (Let's call her N since I don't know how she feels about being mentioned on a blog.) arrived at 1pm sharp, only to realize that the signing wasn't until 3pm. It was not one of my finer moments, let me tell you. Fortunately, N is a a very good friend and my father is an extremely understanding guy. We waited the two hours, got in place about an hour early (people had already taken the first two rows!) and sat ever so patiently as a laptop with a camera was set up to livestream the event, arcs of Onyx were hidden behind shelves, and Jennifer's people tried to make small talk with the crowd.

Then they arrived. Oh yes, it completely deserves the dramatic italicization. I happened to turn around as they were coming in and I was floored. Wow, Jennifer, Pepe and Sztella are some BEAUTIFUL people. They came in and sat down, dazzled everyone, then Jennifer started talking about the book and answering questions. I wish I remembered more of what they said, but I can really only offer highlights.

-Jennifer said the setting of Obsidian was a place one of her ex-boyfriends used to live.

-She joked about being known for the sexier books of YA and decided there were worse things to be known for. (But had a really awkward moment on twitter when she realized a highschooler was reading her adult contemps.)

-Pepe and Sztella kissed! Granted it was at the crowd's insistence, very chaste, hidden behind a copy of Obsidian. Pepe also called Sztella kitten... once, and she did not enjoy it! They were the cutest thing. Jennifer insists they're actually that cute and in love all the time, she (and the crowd) could have stared at them all day.

-Jennifer decided to write Katy as a book blogger because she wanted a character who was really passionate about books. Jennifer loves bloggers. (She may forget your actual name, but she has a near encyclopedic memory of blog names.) A tiny spoiler: Onyx is actually dedicated to book bloggers and avid readers.

-Pepe spoke quietly, so it was difficult to understand him at some points, but he talked about the best parts of the trip (a funny creeper that photo-bombed every single book trailer scene), his hobbies (the official answer was hanging out with Sztella as much as possible, but Jennifer suggested him getting to kiss Sztella all the time since she wouldn't let him say soccer.), his favorite food (Seafood, Sztella's was pasta and Jennifer's was meat), what you shouldn't miss in Hungary (food: Hungarian goulash, place: Budapest)

-Sztella did not speak very much, but we learned she's going to school, modeling and doing a whole bunch of interesting things!

-They talked a little bit about filming the book trailers for Obsidian, Onyx, Opal and a teaser trailer. Jennifer spoke about having to build Pepe and Sztella up to all the kissing scenes they filmed. The cuts for the trailer look something like wall kiss, couch kiss, grope, porch kiss, grope, grope. She also divulged that the laptop scene, yes that scene, is in the Obsidian trailer.

-Jennifer also talked a little about her adult contemporaries, there will be three in the series. (Tempting the Best Man under the name J. Lynn is the first) The Lux and Covenant series will be 5 books each at the moment. Jennifer is coming out with another adult book, simply categorized as urban fantasy.

After all of this absolute awesomeness, it was time to get in line for the signing.... and get Onyx arcs! I felt a little bit bad for the lady handing them out, almost all of us just wanted to rip them out of her hands. (Myself included, she actually got close enough where I could have snatched one, but that darn conscience of mine said no. I was rewarded with my own copy 10 minutes later.) Jennifer was super sweet and so very nice! Pepe and Sztella didn't really talk, but they were so pretty. I confessed to being a total creeper about them and they seemed to take in in stride, smiling and not looking for security. They also signed everyone's books! (Pepe did a little heart next to his name in all of them, cute!) There was swag to collect of course, but I will talk about that later. Pictures were taken, first of everyone at the signing, then everyone plus Jennifer, Pepe and Sztella. Pepe and Sztella went to the back, near me since they were just soooo flippin tall! Sztella especially, with her very cute (purple?) heels, that I was completely envious of. Then everyone got individual pictures with the trio. Vania (one of Jennifer's people I think...) was extremely nice and took the photos for everyone. Then we collapsed happily into our cars and drove home.

This! This was the shot that mattered!
I almost fainted! Totally overwhelmed by them all!

Oh... and I guess this one was okay too.

Suuuuuch an attractive picture... really...

The reason I put off talking about the swag is... I'm holding a contest to win some!
