A Bit of Bookish Information

Book Trailer News!

As I was writing the draft of this post, I saw that Entertainment Weekly had posted an interview with John Green and debuted The Fault in Our Stars trailer! It's so good, so exciting and makes the book look even more amazing! You have to go here to watch it, I haven't seen it up anywhere else yet. Please, please, please fangirl with me and tell me how much you love it.

Harbinger by Sara Wilson Etienne also has a trailer now. It makes the book look absolutely fantastic, while it had been so-so for me before. If they made more book trailers like that and put them on TV, I guarantee more people would be reading. (The Story Siren is running a contest to win Harbinger right now!)

Cinder by Marissa Mayer which made this book look amazing.

and finally The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe!

Books no longer coming out on schedule:

Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews is coming out in August 2012, The Edge #4 is still coming out December 2012 and Kate Daniels #6 and #7 are scheduled to be released closer together.

Once Burned (Vlad and Leila #1) by Jeaniene Frost is coming out a month later than planned on June 26th 2012.

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins has been pushed back to 2013.

(I know Isla is the most significant push back for a very popular series, but Perkins has been struggling with keeping up a book a year schedule. She is not willing to risk her sanity, or the quality of her writing by forcing herself to make a Fall 2012 release date. Perkins posted about the decision on her blog here, completely owning up to her choice and explaining why she had to do it. I would like to make it clear that if you are going to complain about or be rude to Stephanie, you will not be welcome there. Most of her fans understand and support this decision. If you don't, feel free to have your own opinion. Just don't try to make Stephanie feel worse.)

Special Book Offers:

Barnes and Noble (BN.com) is running a promotion on teen books right now. If you use a special coupon code online, you get half off any order of teen books you make. I don't know all the logistics (like if it counts if you buy 2 of one book, or if you can use the coupon on one order only, etc.) you'd have to ask BN.com all of that. The offer is only valid until January 12th 2012 though, so you must order those books soon!

Coupon code: F3Y9V4J

Cover Reveals:

I am a huge fan of cover reveals. Therefore I have 4 special covers to show you this time around. The first is... the amazing, the beautiful and the highly sexy....

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) by Cassandra Clare cover

and... a complete redesign of The Curse Workers series by Holly Black! (The Story Siren has a contest up for someone to win a set of these newly redesigned books.)

I have absolutely no idea why, but I utterly adore these new covers: it's like they're creepy, but insanely cool at the same time.

I believe that is all the bookish news I have for now, see you next time. :)

Happy Reading,
