Day six has finally come and I can share with you my (childish) favorite!
Kodocha: Sana's Stage (Kodocha No Omocha or Child's Toy) by Miho Obana
Romance Rating: 3/5
Art Rating: 4/5
Story line: 4.5/5
When I started Kodocha, I thought it was going to be a very light hearted comedy about a child star named Sana. While Kodocha can be funny, it's way more serious than I ever gave it credit for. It deals with suicide, abandonment, death, sex and pain. That's very surprising for a series about (I think middle school age) kids. I guess the point was to show that while kids could be carefree, they were not free of adult problems or even completely innocent. I loved this series so much because it let me think about and have an opening to subjects that I wasn't really comfortable talking about with my parents. The art was never my favorite, but I did love Sana's hair. There is not a huge emphasis on romance, but it does have its share of cute moments.
