It is the last day of Merry Manga Week! I'm so sad to see this little project of mine end. Be sure to tell me in the comments if I need to do this next again year. It was fun talking about all of my manga obsessions. I have of course saved one of the best for last.
Full Moon wo Sagashite (Searching for the Full Moon) by Arina Tanemura
Romance Rating: 3/5
Art Rating: 5/5
Story line: 4/5
I have loved this art for years. It was so beautiful, it used to make me cry (well, that and the extremely sad parts of this manga.) This story does flip back to the supernatural, with guardian death spirits that have no clue what they're doing. As a kid, I loved to sing. I went through 5 years of chorus. Music is a big part of my life. To meet Mitsuki, who couldn't sing and barely even yell was life changing. I wondered what it was like to not be able to speak because of a horrible throat cancer, being given the choice to possibly lose your voice that you love or die from a fatal disease. (Julie Andrews, an amazing singer, had to make this choice. She had throat surgery and her precious, beautiful singing voice was damaged, almost lost.) Mitsuki, with all her perseverance used to give me hope. Admittedly, the plots can get crazy, the humor a little over the top, but it's a great story about music, love and trust.
