And a Fond Farewell to 2011

This was originally an end of the year questionnaire The Story Siren posted, I just answered the questions too. Full Credit goes to her.

1. Best Books Read
Narrowed by genre
Paranormal- Warm Bodies by Issac Marrion

Fantasy- Four way tie between The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab, Sweetly by Jackson Pearce, The
Poison Eaters and Other stories by Holly Black and Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Contemporary- Anna and the French Kiss or Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Dystopian- Wither by Lauren Destefano or Divergent by Veronica Roth or Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Sci-Fi- Hourglass by Myra McEntire

2. Most Disappointing Book/Book You Wish You Loved More Than You Did
Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon, I really did like the book, but I was expecting it to be much... more captivating than it was.

3. Most Surprising (in a good way) Book
Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey and Warm Bodies by Issac Marrion I guess I wasn't expecting to love zombies so much, or for them to have such beautiful stories and writing.

4. Book(s) You Recommended to People Most
Warm Bodies By Issac Marrion, Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, Hourglass by Myra McEntire and Sisters Red or Sweetly by Jackson Pearce

5. Best Series You Discovered
The Heist Society series by Ally Carter I will be the first to admit I thought it was going to be a fluffy, kiddish and not a really good series. It ended up becoming one of my new favorites.

6. Best Book That Was Out of Your Comfort Zone
The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell, it wasn't really fully "out of my comfort zone" so much as something that I never would have picked up for myself to read. It was heaps better than I had expected.

7. Most Thrilling, Unputdownable Book
Every single one of you is going to laugh at me, but Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. No, seriously, it may not be the most action filled book ever, but I literally sat in the same position and read this book for 4 hours straight, with no breaks.

8. Book(s) You Most Anticipated
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins, The Pledge by Kimberly Derting, Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi and Sweetly by Jackson Pearce

9. Favorite Cover of a Book You Read
Hourglass by Myra McEntire (I have a poster of it hanging in my room.)

10. Most Memorable Character
Rhine Ellery from Wither by Lauren Destefano

11. Most Beautifully Written Book Read
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi or Warm Bodies by Issac Marrion or The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab

12. Book You Can’t Believe You Waited Until 2011 to Finally Read
Divergent by Veronica Roth, it was amazing.

13. The Books that Didn’t Get Enough Buzz, but are FABULOUS
Warm Bodies by Issac Marrion, I know everyone is supposed to have read it and they're making a movie of it, but I have seen almost zero buzz from anyone but me about this book.

14. Books I Wish I Had Gotten Around to Read this Year
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, The Liar Society by Lisa and Laura Roecker, Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

15. Favorite NON-YA Book
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean or Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews
