Fan Letter Friday (1)

For months I've been trying to think up a meme I could do that was original. (Read: I thought of myself and didn't get from anywhere else.) Finally I think I've come up with a unique, perhaps even silly activity I could do on my blog. It is called fan letter friday. All the time I see nice, special, kind and good authors on twitter, facebook, their own blog, etc. that I make friends with or follow on accident and I adore them. I like them as more than authors. I like them as people. So, I decided, since I don't have time to review every single book these people have written, I'm going to write to them. I am going to flaunt my love for them all over the internet and hopefully brighten their day. I am going to sound, insane, rambly and possibly like a stalker, but that's just part of the fun right?

Dear Jackson Pearce, (Author of As you Wish, Sisters Red and Sweetly.)

I love your blog videos. They either make me laugh, give me something to think about, or teach me a lesson. (In a fun way, not creepy schoolhouse teacher way.) I admire your promotion of literacy, specifically the young adult titles and how they are not "lesser" books because they were written for a younger audience. I also think your pets are really cute and am utterly jealous of the huge bookcase you stand in front of in your videos.

I'd like to thank you for being more "present online" than some authors I've seen. You talk to people on twitter, you post videos, you do livestream chats and seem like you genuinely want to know your fans and people who aren't your fans yet. It is entirely possible you do all of this out of boredom, but I think you just like meeting and talking with people.

You're really confident (and loud). I feel like you're not afraid to be yourself online which is very rare and really inspiring. You state your opinions respectfully and pay no mind to people who simply want to argue with or insult you. You're so brave and really nice. And if I'm being honest, totally intimidating because of it. I feel like "GAH! She's so amazing I am a lowly spaz." However since you talk to everyone and make the videos it is also practically impossible to feel uncomfortable or odd around you. It's like "Jackson Pearce accepts everyone." Which is a totally awesome message (for lack of a better word) to have.

Thank you for being a fun, educated and appropriately inappropriate role model. You are completely awesome. :)

Your livestream chats are crazy! I've never seen so many people typing and talking with so many different  thoughts at once. It's so fun!

Oh, I love your hair it is beautiful and I really like your name.

Love,

P.S. Please write more books because they are amazing.

P.P.S. I'm sorry for my bad grammar and how long this is.
